Dr. Kelly Muic Lombard
Dr. Kelly Muic Lombard is an educator dedicated to shaping the future of learning. She advocates for an educational shift in teaching academic content by incorporating the development of deeper learning competencies into daily instructional and learning experiences. She promotes a positive school culture and academically challenging educational experiences for all students within an encouraging, equitable and supportive environment. Over the past 23 years, Dr. Lombard has obtained professional experience as a curriculum coordinator, high school principal, elementary principal, research and grant writer, school counselor and federal programs/Title I coordinator in the southwestern PA region. She also has extensive counseling and therapy experience with children, adolescents and families. In 2016, Dr. Lombard was invited to represent public school educators at the “Advancing Active STEM Education for our Youngest Learners” Symposium at the White House due to her contributions in promoting STEM learning for children. In 2017, she was awarded a School Retool Fellowship, a professional development fellowship for school leaders sponsored by the Grable Foundation to learn strategies for redesigning school culture. In 2019, Dr. Lombard was selected to participate in the national Deeper Learning Equity Fellowship hosted by Big Picture Learning and Internationals Network of Public Schools. This fellowship focuses on learner-centered educational practices by breaking down systemic barriers in order to improve public education opportunities for underserved communities. Dr. Lombard received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University in 1996. She received a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000. Dr. Lombard earned both a Master of Science degree in School Psychology (2001) and a K-12 Principal Certification (2006) from the California University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Muic Lombard received a Doctorate of Education degree at Point Park University in Leadership and Administration in 2018.
